How To Hypnotize Someone

Many people have been searching online for information on how to hypnotize someone. There are not only many different types of hypnotism but also many different types of how to “induce” (that is, put someone into hypnosis - or “under”). We must first take a quick look at the types of hypnotism to best understand how to hypnotize someone.

Types of Hypnosis:


Auto Hypnosis - Auto Hypnosis is self induce hypnotism including but not limited to a simple technique known as auto suggestion. This includes self help type hypnosis cds, videos and scripts.

NLP - NLP stands for neuro linguistic programming, first coined and discovered by Richard Bandler and linguist John Grinder. Which is a type of hypnosis that is especially effective for use covertly.

Traditional Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy - These are the most commonly seen types of hypnotism that almost anybody can find a practitioner of with a simple look through their local yellow pages. This type of hypnosis is commonly used to help people stop smoking, lose weight and other traditional “self help” type improvements in everyday life.

Stage Hypnotism - This is by far the least credible (and often most fraudulent and faked) type of “hypnotism” - if you can even call it that. Although there are some stage hypnotists that actually do use some legitimate forms of hypnotism in their acts, by far most of their show is quite simply conducted by the use of “stooges”, mentalism (a form of stage magic) and the group effect (a simple psychological trick whereby a person is in front of a large audience and is told to “act like a dog” and simply obliges to satisfy the crowd - not from being at all hypnotized.)
